The camp site is a permanent one, surrounded by mature trees and is well drained. Car parking is at one end of the field and cars are moved there after we have unloaded and set up. We ask that people with live-in vehicles book them in so we can allocate space along the hedge line. Situated around the field are compost toilets, sinks, and water points. Hot showers are available all day. View Campsite Guidelines
The Gate team will warmly welcome you from midday on the Friday until Sunday evening, though most people arrive during Saturday. Throughout the camp, the Gate is your first port of call for information and a supportive space if needed. Next to the Gate is the First Aid tent. A First Aider is on call every day.
The cafe is open all day for drinks and sumptuous cakes. Treat yourself to a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning. Later in the day there will be a variety of tasty vegetarian dishes to choose from on the main menu. The cafe is also a venue for the auction and other spontaneous events.
Our Camp Shop is open 3 times a day. It is well stocked with all that you need to cook lovely Camp meals plus toiletries etc. Fresh vegetables, fruit, bread and milk are delivered daily. We try to offer a selection of organic and non-organic products at reasonable prices. There are lots of lovely treats like chocolate and biscuits for those evenings around the fire. If there is anything that you need, that the shop hasn't got, you can order it for delivery next day.
In front of the Cafe and Shop is the area we call the Village Green. It serves as a focal point for many of the activities that take place at the Camp, particularly involving children and teens. Various sports and games happen here. This is also where you will find the space for under 5's and their carers. There is a sandpit and a selection of toys. There are also some organised activities to get involved in.
Our natural sauna welcomes people all day. You can drop in or there may be 'singing in the sauna' slots, spontaneous topical discussions or opportunities for healing. Some sessions may be designated for particular groups like young women or men.
